Nicole Sorochan:
Co-Director, Producer, Editor, Cinematography
Nicole Sorochan is a filmmaker living between California and West Coast Canada. In order to lean about film, Nicole worked as an assistant publicist at the San Francisco Film Festival, as a filmmaker liaison at the Santa Barbara Film Festival. Since then, she has assisted in several film projects, created a film picked up for the Discovery Channel, given lectures on filmmaking, created a film for the Harvard Asian International Relations Conference in Tokyo, and has worked as a contractor for video advertisements. In addition to her film work, she has spent a number of years in Asia, working with government officials and non-profit organizations as well as playing semi professional volleyball. Nicole has recently opened her own Production company: View Street Productions. She also works as the Creative Director for One Net Marketing. She is most passionate about creating films and assisting with projects that inspire political and social change.
Chandler Vandergrift:
Co-Director, Writer, Photographer, Cinematography
Chandler Vandergrift is a photographer and writer living in Bangkok Thailand. His photography work has appeared in numerous magazines and newspapers across North America. He has also spent years in Southeast Asia working as a NGO researcher on various political and social issues in the region. He is currently beginning work co-authoring a book complied by Thai journalists about the conflict in Southern Thailand.
Jom Petchphradub:
Associate Producer
Jom has over 20 years experience as an investigative news reporter in Thailand. He is currently working for Thailand’s only independent news station, I-TV, as the Deputy Editor Director. He has hosted his own political talk show for I-TV called the Insider and is currently the anchor and narrator for another political analysis program called Zero Hour. Jom has focused the last three years of his career on the Southern conflict and is one of the most authoritative voices from the conflict zone. Before working at I-TV he spent 10 years working as a reporter for the Nathichon newspaper where he was awarded the paper’s prestigious Pulitzer Investigative Reporting Award. He is native of Thailand’s deep South and a graduate from Prince of Songkla University in Pattani.
Demetre Papageorgiou:
Co-Producer, Editor
Demetre is an experienced editor with over 10 years of editing, videography and film production
experience. Demetre has worked on cutting edge documentaries such as Dark Days and 'Come
Rain or Shine' – a feature documentary on the rock band Genesis. Demetre holds a BFA from
Columbia College in Chicago with a concentration in directing and screenwriting.
Ian Hinkle:
Co-Producer, Writer, Supervising Editor
Ian Hinkle is an award-winning documentary filmmaker who has been chasing stories worldwide since 1992. His work- as a director, cinematographer, and editor- has been seen on networks from Discovery Channel to National Geographic, and at film festivals from Sedona Arizona to St. Petersburg Russia. Having worked as a shooter with notable documentary filmmakers such as Anne Makepeace, Laszlo Pal & Aerlyn Weissman, Ian brings over fifteen years of production experience to this project. With an emphasis on social-political issues, he has a keen eye for personal stories that lead to a deeper understanding of our world. Ian believes that the closer we look at the world around us, the closer we can get to finding solutions to improve it.
